The European cluster of Ceramics supports REFFRACTEUR, a major European project awaiting funding

The Cluster is partnering with REFFRACTEUR (Digital REFractory FRAmework for a Carbon‑neutral and Resilient indusTry in EURope) project, a European MSCA Doctoral Network led by IRCER (Institute for Research on Ceramics). Building thanks to the results of the European ATHOR (2017-2022) and CESAREF (2022-2026) projects, REFFRACTEUR project aims to train a new generation of researchers and drive innovation in the field of refractory materials.

The development of REFFRACTEUR project was accelerated thanks to ANR MRSEI funding, awarded with the Cluster’s label. This French scheme is designed to support the creation and structuring of European or international scientific networks. It enabled the consortium to strengthen its foundations, align partners around a shared vision, and prepare a highly competitive application for the MSCA programme.

Currently awaiting a funding decision, expected in April 2026, REFFRACTEUR project aims to address Europe’s environmental objectives and the industrial challenges of tomorrow by developing next‑generation refractory materials and innovative processing routes.

The Cluster is already actively involved as an associated partner, contributing to communication, outreach, and the promotion of training opportunities linked to the project.
