RESEARCH CENTRE INTO THE ARTS OF EARTH AND FIRE

CRAFT

CRAFT, the Centre for Research into the Arts of Earth and Fire, created in Limoges in 1993 on the initiative of the Ministry for Culture, has developed a strong, living project that aims to create an experimental and artistic link between industrials, designers, architects and sculptors.

CRAFT invites artists, designers, and architects to work on a project using ceramics. A dual think tank is created: the industrials are encouraged to use design as the driving force for development; while we undertake "plastic" research using ceramics as the medium with artists.
CRAFT therefore demonstrates that artistic innovation can be a driving force behind economic development.
