The Center’s expanded committee is responsible for decisions regarding project certification / approval, in particular for R&D projects. Certification is very important as it gives access to priviledged public funding from the State and regional organisations.
All of the members of the expanded committee have signed a confidentiality agreement concerning the projects submitted to them for examination.
The Association has strict confidentiality standards for projects submitted for certification.
Once the project has received approval, a formal authorisation for disclosure of the title holder and partners of the project is requested from the project holder. The partners of the project retain the right to accept or refuse this disclosure request.
The expanded committee is composed of manufacturers from the Limousin, Région Centre, and Haute Pyrenees as well as representatives from the University of Limoges, the Ceramics Laboratories of Limoges, the Center for the Transfer of Ceramic Technologies, and the Higher National College of Industrial Ceramics
Successful R&D projects that have been certified are founded on the following criteria:
The selected projects are presented to the Commission of Financers to direct the public part of their funding, taking into account their characteristics and the criteria for financial support.
The thematic distribution of the projects is representative of the European Center of Ceramics’ strategic areas:
| Strategic areas | Number of projects |
|---|---|
| Products and processes for porcelain | 3 |
| Construction and the home | 7 |
| Energy production and energy saving | 11 |
| Health | 1 |
| Electronics and optoelectronics | 4 |
The European Center of Ceramics supports project work by accompanying project holders through the technical, financial and industrial ownerships aspects of their projects.
